Have you ever heard of a VA loan before? If not, you may be in for a pleasant surprise.

Back in the day, when I was serving in the military, a VA loan could only be used once. Today, however, that has changed. Every two years, active and past members of the military can apply for a loan with nothing down. The only requirement is that you live in the house for two years - after that, you can apply for another loan and do what you want.

Aloha! Today we're going to be discussing the real estate market here in Hawaii and how it's faring.

The market here started out hot in 2015, and there is definitely a good amount of inventory, but you'll still find that we're in a balanced market that's leaning towards a seller's market. 

The average increase in home prices has remained steady at 1% per month, and this has been occurring for almost seven years. The average condo price right now is $370,000 and the average home price is $650,000

In my own estimation, I believe that now is a great time to buy - but there's never really a bad time to buy. Historically low interest rates and very low down payment requirements with products like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac can boost your buying power phenomenally.
